In the name of all that is Holy! I've just caught the end of a Commonwealth cycling event...and the UK team pink suits? You can clearly see the outline of their willies!! Positively indecent...but quite fun!
I might be tuning in more frequently!

I know, I got an eyeful.

Well we need a pic, obvs. So that we can comment in an informed way.

balalake · 29/07/2022 18:11

I'm going to the track cycling, will let you know an opinion after I've been.

There is no UK team, one of the joys of the Commonwealth Games is that Wales and Scotland get to compete as the nations they are, and of the smaller territories competing and having a spotlight.

Ah...apologies about the UK...they were English I think. Quite well hung......

To be honest the womens' kit it a bit indecent too: www.bbc.co.uk/sport/commonwealth-games/62352472

The colour is one thing but the tight cycling suits which show the body shape are pretty normal. Just watched 3 weeks of the Tour de France and have a cyclist DH.... No, they don't leave much to the imagination!

Headbandheart · 29/07/2022 18:56

Gulp, yes…but I sort of assumed it was mostly padding…cycling shorts, especially womens, do need a lot of padding
but I’m not sure about genius who decided crotch area needed to be darker shade and therefore stand out like 👋

Actually that looks even worse than the mens…just why?

ProperVexed · 29/07/2022 19:04

I think the design is somewhat reminiscent of Tudor cod pieces!

link to the men's suits?

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 29/07/2022 19:12

The kit is not pink, it's red. The padded area is not darker, it's the same colour, but the fabric is not stretched do much where it is stitched onto the padding and reflects the light differently.

These are not particularly different from any other cycling skinsuits.

PixiePirate · 29/07/2022 19:16

Ha! We said exactly the same thing when we were watching the news earlier. They were quite shocking 😆

Maybe cycling has finally gone gender critical and they're highlighting the important bits!

Pieceofpurplesky · 29/07/2022 19:41

The men's team looked like it was about to break out into a Shakespearean song!

ProperVexed · 29/07/2022 19:54

Thanks for the twitter link to pictures @skilpadde .
Pp is correct...the women's kit is probably more disturbing!

This is the only thing that could make it make sense cos like WTAF!!

Whatwouldscullydo · 29/07/2022 19:59

Omg. I know the outfits have to be toght/streamlined but there is no excuse to humiliate their wearer's like this.

Why can't they be dark blue/black. Its not right at all. Who signs off on a this.

RhymesWithAntelope · 29/07/2022 20:08

I thought exactly the same. You could see absolutely everything.

Apparently it's called a moose knuckle.

ProperVexed · 29/07/2022 20:17

I understand the whole Lycra thing for streamlining and speed, but the emphasis between the legs is so wrong! Leaves nothing to the imagination!
