Urgent referral Breast Clinic

I saw my GP at the beginning on the week because of a lump I found. He said I'd be seen within two weeks at the clinic, he directed me to the hospital website for the breast clinic, had lots of info, including that you'd have a phone call within a few days with a appointment. Nothing from them yet.

Just wondered how long others in the same position had had to wait for a call .

Thanks

So sorry, OP, but glad the bad news is at least as 'good' as can be and at least you know now. Sending you the best wishes for your treatment Flowers

I am so sorry OP to read your update.

KnottyKnitting · 31/08/2022 20:17

Sorry to hear your news but good it's not spread.

The way you found out was just appalling! I would seriously complain about that... similar to a friend of mine who was called by a macmillan nurse on a Friday evening before getting her results from the hospital on the following Monday. So she knew it was cancer but not any of the details about staging, how aggressive, if it had spread, what the treatment would be and what the prognosis was. She went through hell that weekend- poor lady. ( She is now 6 years post surgery and radio therapy and fit as a fiddle thank goodness.)

Good luck with the treatment. Flowers

Sorry to hear that OP.

There’s a cancer support thread in General Health.

@KnottyKnitting wow that is awful! Bad enough having one night of it, a whole weekend must have been terrible. Glad to hear she's fit as a fiddle now.

Thanks for all the well wishes🙂

Will go find the thread.

Really sorry you found out the way you did - that’s awful.
and really sorry you’ve had a breast cancer diagnosis and are about to start chemo. I was diagnosed almost 10 years ago and had mastectomy, chemo and radiotherapy and have been on tamoxifen for 9 years. Get in touch with Maggies centres and Breast Cancer Now - they provide lots of support which I found really helpful. Good luck! Xx

So sorry it wasn’t better news - wishing you all the best.
so sorry you found out like that, how awful.

Chocolateismyfavourite · 01/09/2022 08:03

Yes, not the best way to find out, was very shaky afterwards.
@Queenshandbag fantastic to hear how well you've done too, thanks for this I will look them up.
@JustDanceAddict thanks for your kindness
