My electrician has wired the door up ready for an interactive doorbell (are they called that).

Interested in hearing views on a Ring and. Nest. Any advice please?

I bought ring last year.
seems fine. Does what it says on tin. I live on my own so have motion sensor on and you can adjust area so it doesn’t pick up my next door neighbours visitors. that gives me a lot of peace of mind and early warning for people coming to the door

The answering remotely is a little cumbersome and slow but does work. But that’s probably cos of signal when out and about so is slow. I’m not convinced any other device would be faster response.

very clear video….I was using mine to check on storm water levels outside my home at night during some flooding issues. Saved me getting out of bed to check every time there was heavy rain- the night vision is good quality.

We have Eufy. One off payment, no subscription. Would definitely recommend.

@husbandcallsmepickle Thanks! Can you get easy access on your mobile phone? Can others in the family do the same?

@BastardtheCat DH has it set up on his phone, I haven't but think I can. Obviously it records people coming to the front door and when they ring the bell we can talk to them.
