I liked the piss-taking of religion as I am very atheist but I’m not sure a similiar musical would have been written about any other religion? Mormonism seems ‘extra’ ridiculous so fair game IYSWIM?

We were disgusted with the racial stereotyping and also jokes at the expense of babies. I know it's supposed to be a joke but don't think sexual abuse of minors is ever funny.

Didn’t like it. Didn’t think it was funny at all. I cant actually remember it to be honest but my take away was that I wouldn’t be going back.

It was written by the creators of South Park what did you expect?

I haven't seen it but I am ex Mormon (born into it) and they are very racist on the whole. I've no interest in seeing it, south park humour isn't my cup of tea.

I enjoyed it, laughed at some of the jokes and not others. We took DD and her friend, overall it was a fun night out.

It's basically South Park on stage, when it's advertised it's says 'from the creators of South Park'.
If you don't like South Park you won't like it!

It's satire. It is critical of the themes covered, but does recognise that the elders who do missionary work in the story have good intentions.

Loved Book of Mormon. Didn't like South Park. The songs are a bit too catchy. It was difficult not to walk around the office humming turn it off.

We are taking the teen DC in two weeks’ time. I love it. I am slightly shocked at those who can’t see it’s satire though!

It's mainly really fucking boring. Not funny or entertaining. I do hate musicals though.

I'm glad I'm not alone most people I've mentioned my feelings about it to respond that comedy is art or some such and shouldn't be censored. For me my main issue was that I don't believe our society is in a place where there aren't people in that crowd (potentially more than we care to believe) whose views are now reinforced as a result. Almost like it validates them.

I should say - I hate musicals but everyone said book of Mormon was amazing and I should give it a chance. I regret it. Haven't got over it years later 😂 (love the theatre, and comedy, and live music)
