Weirdos hanging around the street

I wasn't sure where to post this, or whether to post it, and risk being called a "goady arse" or similar. Here goes anyway.

I have been feeding someone's cats for a week and will be feeding them next week too as they're away for a fortnight. They live on the next to last house on the road, and to the left of the last house is a sort of grass banking. It's not very big and doesn't feed onto any other road.

Several times when I've been there I've noticed a white Transit type van parked there and several people sitting on this grass banking smoking weed, swearing and drinking. They look rather odd. I don't feel very comfortable around them and quickly go in and out.

Apart from wondering why they are choosing this area to hang around in, booze and smoke weed, is it legal?

It seems weird to sit on grass at the end of the road. If they live on that road, they would be in their own garden? All the houses have front and back gardens. They look intimidating and the whole thing is very curious.

Probably not legal but realistically the police won't do anything.
We get all manner of strange people parking outside our house as there's a grassy patch opposite. I tend to ignore it now.

I can see why it might feel intimidating but they're not actually doing anything or being abusive or nasty towards anybody and just talking amongst themselves I don't know what the police can do about it unless they hang around and then do them for drink or drug driving later.

Is there somebody that would walk with you to your friend's house to feed a cat?

Just ignore it and don’t go so late.. I live on an end house and it has a bench opposite so often get weirdos there late at night, I just ignore, you don’t want them guessing it’s you no need to go making enemies for yourself sounds like they aren’t doing anything to you personally so move on
