Hi, visiting Barcelona soon for the first time, any must see/do recommendations? Also I love paella, I’ve trawled tripadvisor looking for recommendations but all very mixed, any tips on finding an authentic restaurant?

thank you all!

La Sagrada Familia (the Cathedral there) is well worth a visit. It is stunning. It is worth booking a tour - partly because you then jump the queues but partly because they tell your the story as you walk through and point out things you might miss and explain the significance of things.

Other than that, it really is a nice place to look round.

I would recommend the open top bus that takes you to all the main sites. You can get on and off at all the places you want and, if you don't want to spend much time there, buses are really regular so you aren't reliant on being ready on the hour or choosing to wait another hour, etc.

Casa Batllo! One of the most breathtaking places I’ve ever been, even the hard to please teenage DC were amazed

There was a thread recently with some ideas - www.mumsnet.com/talk/_chat/4592007-barcelona-weekend-tips-please

Parc Guell is also amazing and fantastical.
i can't give any recommendations for restaurants but i've heard the little places in the meat market are very good, you sit on stools at counters to eat tapas and the like.
But also to tell you that the meat market is very, erm, full on in terms of animal bits and pieces. Particularly the wobbly bits, so if that's likely to bother you, perhaps give it a swerve.
