There has been a lot of speculation about the possibility of a coming recession.

At 1:30pm, the Bureau of Economic Analysis will announce US GDP figures for the second quarter. This will be covered by news channels such as CNBC and Bloomberg. Possibly others.

Given the economic indicators I watch, the chances of America not going into recession are slim. This will likely trigger a “domino effect” with the EU, Japan, China and, of course, the UK.

The official narrative will be: “expect a short, shallow” recession.

Personally, I expect the GFC 2.0.

Below is a link to a tweet I posted on 21st April, predicting this recession before the end of summer. Basically, the US Fed has been hiking interest rates since March in order to trigger a recession - the objective is to bring down inflation. This recession has been a long time coming.
