Ponycon (MLP) - suitable for children?

My 8 year old is very very into MLP - she knows she is unusual at her age range (she is on autistic spectrum) - I would love so much to take her to a my little pony 'conference' - there is one in the UK in autumn - in the pictures there are children and it says children are very welcome. But there is also a large contingent of adults !

My only concern is it is a fetish thing! I think the idea of dd meeting adults who love MLP is actually great in some respects it would really cheer her up that she is not alone in loving it and I think would be good for her confidence

But wondered if any mumsnetters ever been to anything like this with adult dress up / fandom involved.

Before anyone says - re. age range just to be clear I know its not totally out fo the age range but generally the girls / boys in her class are not into MLP anymore - she has younger cousins/ friends are are still but 8/9 year olds seem to have moved on generally.

If you look at the T&Cs they do seem to be trying to keep it family friendly

ah thanks that is helpful I should have looked. Yes it is the sexualised side of adult dress up I was worried about. I'd love to find out if any MNers have been.
