Passport Expedition

Evening all, has anyone had their passport expedited and how long after they said they would do that did you receive the passport? It was applied for 11 weeks ago so far 🙄.

Several other active threads on this subject at the moment, I think if you do a quick search you'll find lots of info

Oh exactly the same boat. I travel in 2 weeks and they’ve had my passport since May. Had an email 2 days ago to say that it had been expedited but nothing since. So frustrating.

Thanks @POTC I was hoping for some specific information from people not trawling through threads about how people have had their passport back in a week (happy for them but very unfair when people have been waiting over 10 weeks!) but I will have another look 😊.

@newlabelwriter so frustrating isn't it? Sick of reading about people getting theirs back really quick! They need to start processing the back log! Do you have any info about where yours is? Keep me updated and I hope you recieve it soon 🤞

I emailed them at exactly 10 weeks after documents were recorded as received. They expedited it the next day and I received the passport around a week later (tnt delivery was slow).

They lied and said my old passport had not been received due to royal mail despite it being logged on their system and tracked delivery and said the application would be treated as a lost passport, I suspect to improve their figures.

I finally had an email yesterday to say it was approved and then being being printed and should be delivered today. All I can think that seemed to make process move faster was emailing my MP, she contacted the home office and then it just felt like she speeded things up. I also called every day for progress - used this number which gets you through to an actual person 01633 285418. There is also a text number you can use. I got all this from a Facebook group called Passport Chaos and I have to say there was some really helpful info on there.

People are going directly to passport offices if they are flying within 48 hours and on the whole coming away with a passport. This was my plan until yesterday! It's all so stressful though and I really sympathise as it was causing me so much anxiety!
