how likely is my sister to catch her flight tonight from Heathrow?

very identifying so I've name
changed. My sister and family broke down on the
motorway on the way to Heathrow today (smoke in car) and she's due to catch a 10pm flight tonight to
Mauritius. She's just arriving now at terminal 4. She's checked them all in yesterday online, but obviously has to
clear baggage drop and security.
Regular Heathrow travellers, how likely is she to make this flight?

OP I can totally understand how she must be feeling. I once had an 8 am flight home for Christmas, got up at 5 there was a metro strike (didn’t know this - they usually announce them where I live), got stuck in a traffic jam in a taxi, was sent to wrong desk for bag drop, queue at security, got searched, ran 1 km to the gate with one shoe on, mouth dry, passport wouldn’t scan and had todo the walk of shame to my seat on final call. I am so so punctual and I was absolutely mortified. Felt so sick, mouth dry, dripping in sweat. Took the whole 3 hour flight to calm down and still now 3 years on I don’t see the funny side.

I’m ridiculously pleased! What a relief.

It’s a hideous experience, thinking you’re going to miss your flight, utterly hellish. Wouldn’t wish it in anyone. Glad they made it.

as far as I know she's not on Insta, but it's possible (she can be a dark horse )
But yeah, very last minute to the gate
(and made me decide that, when we fly next month, for the first time in years, to get there the day before, to be on the safe side 🤣🤣)

and yeah, sadly car is fucked.
But they can worry about that after two weeks in Mauritius! (and a long taxi ride back home)
