Happened on Friday, was camping for the weekend, felt like a had a fine hair in my eye, couldnt see anything and it went on all day. Brought some hayfever eye drops and got up next day and it was fine. Went swimming saturday with DD and it came back again.
Its been fine since but this morning same thing happened. Felt like a hair was in my eye, cant see anything in there. It's been driving me mad and has made me so grumpy and got a headache. Now it feels like there is a little lump on eyeball.
Does anyone have any suggestions please? Should I go to the doctors?

I think I'd book an appointment with the optician. There might be a fine scratch on the surface or something.

I had that a few years ago, it was a tiny eyelash that was trying to grow towards the eye rather than outwards. Pop to the opticians and they will be able to help

Optician rather than doctor as doctor won’t have the right equipment to check your eye thoroughly.

Agree with PP's but if you need a little bit of relief I always find when my eyes are bad from hayfever and feel like I have stuff in them if you put a tea bag in cool water, wring it out and place over your eye (when closed of course) it helps soothe them. I don't know why it works but it really does! Xx

Thanks everyone. I have eyelash extensions on, have had for years and never had a problem, have checked closely for little lashes and cant see anything.

I had a similar situation, went to the opticians and they sent me to eye a&e. I had a fragment of insect wing embedded in the surface of my eye that needed removing. Bit niche, must have been from charging around the countryside on a handsome chestnut pony. Go to an optician :)

yes to optician.

when I got sand in my eye and scratched my eye lid they examined it to see if the cornea was affected and flushed it.

I too had an invisible eyelash growing inwards. Eye a&e sorted it very quickly.

I had something similar recently and it was an eyelash growing the wrong way. Spec savers sorted it in 2 minutes. I couldn’t see it and thought there was something in my eye too. I’d definitely go to the opticians first. All the best.
