Basically as a family we've been through some really tough times over the last several months. Lots of things going on in our personal lives and my eldest son, who has autism has been extremely challenging too. His anxiety has been through the roof, he's not sleeping and it has all came out as challenging behaviour that we've struggled. I won't go into too much detail but it's been hard going and draining. We've never had much support.

a few months ago we requested help from our LA as none of us were in a good place. We were granted a support worker which specialises in children with SEN rather than a social worker!

we were granted a support worker and tbh she was lovely and helpful but inconsistent. It was meant to be weekly both at home or in school but she didn't show a few times, or was sick or on holiday and she then left, we got a new one but it took 3 weeks to get that new one. The new one came to our house once, then school, said she'd see us again and would help do a camhs referral and haven't heard from their services since.

we've not been told it's ended, we've not had any contact with them, tried emailing and nothing. There is no direct email for the service, but I've emailed the last worker we had. I've emailed the LA who referred us to their service and not had a response yet?

I know they are so over stretched but to think this is piss poor leaving us in the lurch like this?? Not even been told it's ended!!

id understand more if it was social care but it wasn't!

I would have understood if they couldn't see us. It's just the lack of contact, been told it'll be weekly for around 4 months but we had about 3 months with massive gaps in between.

not sure who I'm meant to complain too. But I've spoken to sendiass in my area who have said they can pass details to me to complain or give feedback.

I would rather have been told it's ended rather than hanging on wondering.

To add, this measure was put in place to prevent an escalation to social work! I feel very let down with the service given

I hear you. There are probably cuts. My usually lovely ss friend is doing massive amounts of overtime, handling a family not had time off in years and starting to look extremely frazzled and even snappy. I think everyone is being hit by it.
