Do you use Glass Door?

I am half heartedly looking for a new job, by which I mean I'm waiting for the perfect job to pop into my inbox. I'm already a LinkedIn member and get alerts from there, as well as approaches from agents. I'm now wondering if its worth joining Glass Door too. I've created an account, but haven't yet completed the compulsory profile because I don't like giving away personal information before knowing what I'll get in return. Can any Glass Door users out there tell me what the benefits are over LinkedIn and whether they would recommed it?

Completely ignore

will either be disgruntled employees
or friends and family’s of the business owner

But if lots of disgruntled employees - that speaks volumes I suppose

I’ve never used it to look for a new job but I’ve used it to look at interview questions, salaries (hate when they just put ‘competitive’ on the ad!) and employer reviews, and I’ve submitted my own as well. I find it quite helpful for those things.

So the idea is that you submit lots of info about your current job and employer, and this is compiled into a database and fed back to others looking for jobs in your sector, yes? But would it be reasonable to assume there are no actual jobs advertised there that won't already be on linkedin?

I created a fake profile with a spare email address to look up reviews, salaries and interview info but I don't use it to look for jobs nor do I contribute.

Yup, that's possibly the way to go, but it doesn't bode well for the quality of the data if everyone else does the same.

I would definitely not look their for jobs, but I do look at reviews. If a lot say the same thing then I think it’s worth listening to.

bbqhulahoop · 26/07/2022 14:48

In my experience their emails about jobs available are widely unsuitable for my skill set but the reviews are helpful if the company has been around for a while or has had enough reviews that the average ones give you enough to go on. I always avoid the ones that are 1 or 5 stars

SpotlessMind88 · 26/07/2022 15:00

I use it to post reviews on companies i have worked at and also to look at reviews of companies I'm looking to work at. I've never used it to find a job.
