Giving notice and being off sick

Currently work sick with Covid. Due back at the weekend and I just can't face it. I used to really enjoy my job but now the stress and the horrible customers make me dread going in. Its also stupid hours (often finishing after midnight, then starting again at midday the next day!)

I've been there for ten years and I'm just done with it I think. Have a second job so I'll be financially okay. Also been struggling physically with the job due to Long Covid.

Can I give notice while off sick? It's two weeks, and the shifts are already done.

Yes, you can.

Threelittlelambs · 26/07/2022 10:43

You can give notice anytime you like!

ChipsRoastOrBoiled · 26/07/2022 10:46

Of course you can. And don't be stressing about leaving them in the lurch or anything like that.
Hope things improve for you very soon.

Thank you!

Sounds ridiculous but I feel like I need someone's permission to do it! Stupid, right? I've never put notice in before though (been made redundant and walked out of a job though!)

How does this look for a notice letter?

Dear Manager,

I'm writing to inform you of my resignation. Please accept this letter as notice. My last day will be xx date as per company policy.

I would like to thank you for all the amazing opportunities and experiences I've had while working at Company. I've very much enjoyed my time here but due to personal reasons, feel that it is time for me to move on.

Yours sincerely,

QuestionableMouse.
