I am the age where they were all the rage when we were little and remember them so well.
I've seen them on sale again.
Are they worth getting??
For my 8 year old (and I'll probably have a play too 🤣)
Will she like them? And be able to look after it/keep it alive?

Are they worth getting nowadays?

They are good, the novelty may wear off, but worth giving them a try op.

I used to love them!!!

Appleblum · 27/07/2022 01:26

Love them! The new versions come in colour and are even cuter!

My kids love them but I always put it away after the battery dies because I don't want them to be glued to it the whole time. They'll find it again after about 6 months and we'll pop a new battery in and the cycle repeats.

My daughter had one as a gift for her birthday. She couldn’t be bothered to look after it and delegated it to me and my partner whilst she was at school/out with friends. Apparently us letting it die is the end of the world but if it happens on her watch then it’s no bother! 😁 she left it at grandmas one day, who wrapped it in a tea towel and put in the back of a drawer so it’s beeping wouldn’t annoy her! 😂

They're about £5. We bought one for our preteen for Xmas a year or 2 ago. He loves "retro" so loved it but the novelty didn't last long. Can't keep them alive if you have to go to school.

Onlyhereforthebatshitneighbours · 28/07/2022 18:44

@Anotherdayanotherdisappointment no staying power - that was the challenge in the 90s!

Soubriquet · 28/07/2022 18:50

I bought dd one for her birthday. She entertained it for about two weeks and then got annoyed with it

It’s been “dead” now for a few weeks and she hasn’t bothered rehatching it

Soubriquet · 28/07/2022 18:52

They are coming out with Jurassic world ones very soon. We are gearing to get them Grin

Onlyhereforthebatshitneighbours · 28/07/2022 22:40

@purpleme12 @beansandmayo thank you both
