With the new highway code rules, do pedestrians still need to wait for the green man at lights controlled cross roads? Or can they just walk our and drivers have to give way?
So, it's a 4 way junction. Road going north/south crossed with road going east/west.
The north/south roads get a green light and can go straight or then down the east/west roads. Then their light goes red and the east/west roads get a green light to go whichever way they are going. Their light goes red, traffic stands still and the green man comes up for pedestrians.
At these crossing, do pedestrians still have to wait for the green man?
If a car is coming up the north/south road, through the green light into the cross junction and then turning left, do they need to stop if a pedestrian is waiting on the corner? Or does the pedestrian need to wait for the green man?
