My daughter is doing an advertising design project for a local botanical garden for her bacheor thesis and she needs some opinions/impressions from people who moved from Syria, Afganistan or Ukraine. Is there anyone on here who
might have time to answer a few of her questions?
She'd be grateful for even one or two answers. She hasn't managed to find many people from those countries to ask in person.
Survey on native plants of Ukraine, Afghanistan and Syria.
- Imagine you go into a garden in which plants from your home country are presented. What plants do you expect to see there? Why did you think of these plants?
- Which plants do you particularly associate with your home country?
- Do you have a memory of certain crops from your home country, e.g. fruit trees, your own garden or fields?
- What trees or urban green areas did you notice in the cities of your home country? Can you remember the smell, colors and shapes of certain plants?
- If you were in the countryside or in a natural area, what kind of plants did you notice there? Can you remember the smell, colors and shapes of certain plants?
- Do you have a personal story in which plants play a role? For example, did your family grow certain plants in their garden or do you remember picking certain flowers as a child? Can you remember the scent, colors and shapes of these plants?
- Do you miss the nature and plant diversity from your home country? Do you notice the difference in plant species between Germany and your home country?
- Can you think of anything else on the subject of plants and nature? Do you associate a certain emotion, nostalgia or story with plants?
