Holiday tomorrow and DC just started vomiting

Not sure why I’m posting really. Appreciate I’m lucky to be able to book a holiday.

Anyway much saved up for, special holiday due to start flying out tomorrow. Single parent so just me and the DC going. Youngest started vomiting - am now up clearing up as he’s just fallen asleep.

shortish break to somewhere I and DC always wanted to go to. Going to have to cancel. Sounds silly but I honestly feel like crying. Been an utterly crap year for various reasons.

Anyway.

I'd feel like crying too. Are you insured?

Tiggertum · 25/07/2022 01:37

I am yes. So that’s something. Will have to get onto it tomorrow.

Was travelling with another single parent which makes me feel even worse! We booked a year ago.

Thank you for replying - hope you aren’t having a difficult night

Fingers crossed they're ok in the morning

maddy68 · 25/07/2022 01:50

If you do cancel make sure you get a doctor's note , they will require proof hopefully they'll be fine by the morning

Tiggertum · 25/07/2022 07:39

Ringing the doctors when they open. He’s still being sick.

Oh @Tiggertum that's awful, I'm so sorry 😞 I'm a single parent too and know how bloody tough it is and how important this holiday would have been. Glad you're insured and I hope you get to rearrange something soon

Tiggertum · 25/07/2022 07:55

Thanks @WatermelonSugarSigh . Once I’ve sorted the insurance claim ( hopefully!) will have to try and have a rethink and see if I can move my leave around and if anywhere else I could go ( also a bit gutted as going with another single parent so would have been nice to have the company!).

i guess at least it didn’t happen on the plane!

Oh no, that's rotten. I always dread this kind of thing happening when I book a holiday. Hope your DC feels better soon x
