Has anyone checked bags in the night before a fight?

We’ve been offered this.

we are flying at a frankly inhumane time with a 4am checkin. We are starting at an airport hotel as we are many many miles from the hotel (this wasn’t planned, fight times have changed in the 3 years since we booked the bloody holiday).

we are having a taxi to the airport. The hotel is a fair walk but maybe a bit much for kids. Just wondering if all of us need to be present to check the hold luggage in or if just DH can do it on behalf of us all?

Yes done it and it's so much easier. DH can do it alone, no need for you all to be there if you're already checked in online and he has boarding passes etc then he just does the bag drop and then the day of the flight you just go straight in the airport and through security with your boarding passes

Yes, done it twice recently- just one of us went.

We did this pre covid times. DH did it on his own. He might have had to take all the passports- I can't remember. It was fab though. Made everything a lot easier

Yes loads of times. It's brilliant

Am also sincerely hoping this doesn’t mean we are at greater risk of losing any cases!!

Oh this has brought back childhood memories of long haul flights, my parents always did this! This was 20 years ago now but looks like it’s still a common thing :)
