What do you do when everything starts to feel overwhelming?

I’ve been struggling with anxiety and my marriage is not great- just that we both are not in the same page in many things…but lately everything has started to feel overwhelming and burdensome. Im trying everything ’to keep going’- I need to travel to visit family which seems a great challenge but even small things have started to feel this way.. I’m on Propronal, don’t drink or smoke, eat sensibly and exercise. Is there some other tips that I could use?

Sounds like things need to change
Do you have a plan?
Where do you want to get to, how , what steps
You can cope with more stuff when you are heading out of crap

Hi op I’m in the same boat with the overwhelm so I’m afraid I don’t have any great advice but wanted to post in solidarity and to help bump your post.

I take propanol for those overwhelming times - at the moment it’s everyday when I step off the train for work. The meds work for me. I also do the 3 things I can hear, see and touch as a little breather whilst the meds kick in.

are the meds working for you?
maybe you need to check in with your GP

I remember that when I can't surge forward then i can inch onwards. Grit teeth and survive.

Sometimes I imagine the events of life like a river and imagine floating along on the current as opposed to trying to control it.

Remember that I can only play the hand of cards I currently have with the information I currently have.

Do a bit of yoga/breathing/go for a walk.

Just try and survive! It's hard!

How old are you? Could this be perimenopause? Overwhelm is currently one of my major symptoms

I always tell myself that the day has 24 hours and 48 hal hours... just take one step at the time and don't think about the next one until its right in front of you.

Or do boxing rounds: 1 mornig, 2 work until break/ lunch, ...

I think you really need to find your own coping strategies.
