Is it worth a 4 hour trip and would it be suitable for a 1st birthday?

I'm going to say no and no. We went a few times when the children were a lot older than 1 and it gets very busy. I would find something more relaxing closer to home. Maybe a local zoo

We did it for my daughter's 4th birthday. It was about 4 hours from us and she loved itm she still talks of it now 6 years later. I would wait a few years until they are a bit bigger and can use the rides/appreciate it. The hotel was also fab (but expensive!)

A 1 year old is not going to appreciate 4 hours in the car for ANYTHING. they are 1!!!!

HappyHappyHermit · 24/07/2022 18:41

I think that might be a bit much, optimum ages are probably 3-5.

FawnFrenchieMum · 24/07/2022 18:42

Absolutely not for that age. Maybe at 3-4.

LilacPoppy · 24/07/2022 18:43

Not at 1 no, and Peppa pig world is much better.

Are you taking other younger children along? If not, no, I wouldn’t drive 4 hours anywhere for a 1 year old’s birthday to be honest. Just do something local and save the big expensive trips for when they are old enough to appreciate and remember it.

Vanillaradio · 24/07/2022 18:45

For a 1 year old- no not worth it particularly after 4 hours in a car. It's expensive and I would save it for when they are a bit old and appreciate it more. We went when ds was 4 and he loved it- at age 1 it would have been a bit much for him as he would have been napping, got bored and cried in the queues and not been able to concentrate on the shows for long enough.

TakeMeToYourLiar · 24/07/2022 18:45

Honestly no. My daughter went at 15 months. There’s very little they can go on at that age. (I was there for big brother benefit)

We had a great time when my son was 4. From memory we went term time so it was quieter, but still plenty of older kids that had been taken out of school for the day.

I agree with others do something super local for a 1 year olds birthday, I think we went to an aquarium and then he had a nap!
