TFL London Underground strike query

Does the London Underground take part in the National Rail strikes?
There is a strike planned for the 18th August when I am supposed to be taking the kids to London. I've done lots of googling and can't work out if it is just overground trains striking. Will the underground be closed for strikes too?

I know that someone here will have the answer. TIA

No they don't take part. However, stations that have both tube and train may be affected. My local station has both train and is on the tube map too, but during the train strike, thought I'd be OK but wasn't, as RMT workers mainly run the station and tube were stoppong a few stops before and not coming into the station.

You will probably find no Bakerloo line north of Queens Park.

Well for the strikes next week, here's the expectation:

If the strikes in August go ahead and are the same unions, I can imagine it will be substantially similar.

I'm really annoyed as I have only one in-person meeting all week and it's on Weds...arrgh!

Thanks everyone.

I think if we drive to the hotel, we should manage to get around London.

Double check your hotel has parking! Parking in central london is £££ plus you might have congestion charge on top.

Check for ULEZ eligibility as well as the congestion charge - if you have to pay both it gets expensive!
