Peugeot 2008 vs Dacia Duster

Looking for a second hand car for 2 adults, 2 children (at present 1 yo and 3 yo). We've seen a Peugeot 2008 and Dacia Duster and have test driven both but can't decide. Bit worried the Duster might be too big to park but it does have more space. Peugeot had a better safety rating though. Dh has a Honda jazz which we're keeping as it's a great run around and work horse. But our second car needs to give us more space for a young family.

Opinions please?

We have a duster and really like it (but we're not car people and went for it because it's cheap). Yes it's big but there's loads of room inside and a great boot for all the baby stuff. We haven't had trouble parking it really, though we do have quite a big drive so not battling on street parking.

Oh, and I think the safety rating on the duster is because it doesn't have a lot of the fancy features other cars do such as lane assist and others rather than it's performance in a crash (though I might be wrong on that - that's just what I understood when I was researching)

I would go for the Peugeot, my uncle swore by that make of car and is now on his 4th or 5th one,, they change the car every 3 years.

my friend had a Dacia duster and I think they were just unlucky, they had trouble after trouble with it, so it would put me off.

Go for the Peugeot, Dacia's are very basic and not very nice to drive.

Basic I agree with - that's why they're a lot cheaper. But whether it's nice to drive with its a personal opinion... I find it a very easy and nice drive, as does DH. Other relatives have Dacias (but not dusters) and think the same 🤷‍♀️

To counter others, i've had numerous Peugeots and every single one has had an issue. My 2008, which I purchased new, had a gearbox that would regularly decide that 1st gear and reverse were not options - always fun when you want to move away from stationary or need to go backwards.

Id keep well clear if I were you
