Marton Mere Blackpool- what to do?

So I know that Blackpool isn’t the most exciting place in the world, but it’s all I could afford for a holiday this year and we are really looking forward to some time away. Going in a couple of weeks and was wondering if people who’ve been can give advice on what’s good to do there and best to avoid? Children are young primary aged and youngest is obsessed with finding nemo so we will be doing the aquarium. Is the tower worth going to with young kids? What’s the circus like? Is there anything that we shouldn’t miss? Thanks!

The Sandcastle water park is good but book a slot for first thing if you can, it gets very busy later in the day. Blackpool Zoo is a good day out too.

Oh and if you're going to be there for a few days and planning to do most of the big attractions it might be worth your while buying the Blackpool Pass.

Stanley Park is good, it's huge and has a play area and a boating lake.

You maybe know this already, but the Rebellion Festival is on in front of the Tower from 4-7 August so will be very busy that weekend.

Hope you have a great time whatever you do Smile

Avoid the adventure golf and the piers if you don't want to get fleeced. Just back from a day trip and paid £15 per adult, £10 per child for a round of 12 holes of crazy golf. Echo stanley park, and the water park as good things to do.

Stanley park is great for kids, we spent a day there when we visited Blackpool

If you're driving and want to do crazy golf, you can drive to Fairhaven Lake which is lovely and you can hire a boat and do mini golf.

It's between St Anne's and Lytham. Gets very busy parking-wise though.

Im north west as we go to this coast quite regularly.

Blackpool zoo. Book in advance to get it cheaper.
Stanley Park.
Mine enjoyed Madam Tussauds.
Pleasure Beach for rides.
Tram ride along the coast.
The Sandcastle for swimming.
The top of the tower with its glass floor is a great experience.
There’s the sea life centre, although try to get vouchers / book in advance as i dont personally think it is worth the cost of full price tickets.
i dont ever tend to go on the beach at blackpool as we prefer further up between Cleveleys and Rossall, right by Mary’s Shell. Theres a cheap carpark next to it and the beach area there is great. There’s a lovely cafe, also selling ice cream, a mini splash area with water that comes up from the ground, toilets, showers and of course sand if you check tides first! It is an easy place to spend time at the beach with kids as everything is handy.

but the thing with holiday parks is really, you want to be using their facilities. See what they have on offer to fill the days.

Thanks everyone! I’ll have a google and see what I can get cheap with tescos vouchers! I’d seen the circus but I’ve never been to one and wasn’t sure what it would be like?
