Help! Stuck in my dress!

Home from a party, dh is asleep, I can’t get the zip down from the back of me dress and I can’t go to sleep wearing clothes!
one tried something to do with a hair bobble, I’ve tried hooking myself on a hanger, I don’t know what else to try and I’m now panicking quietly! How can I get the zip down? I’m no contortionist!

I’d go to bed in it and then get DH to unzip it in the morning

WhoIBU · 24/07/2022 01:19

I'd wake my DH.

Can you bend your knees and lean back against a door and kind of drag it down while standing up? Or do the same thing but catch it on the edge of the kitchen counter?

I'd just wake DH up. Mine would do it and roll over and go back to sleep immediately unless I was offering sex tho

BobMortimersPocketMeat · 24/07/2022 01:23

Wake him up! It’s an emergency!

TheChosenTwo · 24/07/2022 01:24

He’s downstairs, I’m not going back down! He’s also been at the party and fast asleep for 30 minutes, I thought I could handle this… clearly I’m not tapping into the knack.
i tried the sliding down the wardrobe door thing but just fell on to the floor 😱

Oh, I need to try and slide up the wardrobe! To pull the zip down…

Nope, zip not budging, it’s a small hidden type zip 🤬I can’t sleep with clothes on, I get tangled and flustered and bloody hot and I’m already flustered and not trying to get out of it!!! I’m beginning to feel panicky 😳😳

Can you use a coat hanger and un wire it and then make it into a hook shape to catch on top of the zip and then drag it down

Alternatively…how much do you like the dress? If its just meh..get the scissors out and cut yourself out of it…chalk it up to experience

WhoIBU · 24/07/2022 01:35

You need to start by arms behind you neck and push it down enough that you can then reach if by putting your arms round the the other way to pull it down.

Two step process.

AHamSandwich · 24/07/2022 01:37

Can it be pulled up above your head and taken off like a jumper instead?

PeloAddict · 24/07/2022 01:40

Ok breathe!
Pull the dress up so you can reach the zip from the top and pull the zip down as much as you can
Then pull the dress down and reach your arm behind from the bottom and you should be able to get the rest of it

justmoimyselfandi · 24/07/2022 01:42

Oh don't be ridiculous!! Go downstairs and wake your husband.
He will undo it in seconds! No need for the panic drama queen

TheChosenTwo · 24/07/2022 01:47

I’m out! Unbent a wire coat hanger as per a pp’s advice and managed to wiggle it down a little bit and then got my arm bent up to find the zip and pull it down 🥳
thank you! It was a very expensive dress and would not have wanted to have cut myself out of it, thankfully that wasn’t necessary!

TheChosenTwo · 24/07/2022 02:00
