It's a noisy neighbour one.

2 doors down been setting up for a garden party since 9am (and testing their sound system 🙄). We're terraces with long, narrow gardens so very much on top of each other.

Turns out the sound system could make people at an Ibiza nightclub go deaf. There's about 80 late teens / young adults who enjoy cheering every 6 seconds. There's also an ice cream van out the front, which is being frequented by the cheering crowd.

My windows are actually rattling. I think that a nytol and earplug combo will help me through the night, but feeling sorry for my neighbours with kids.

No point to this other than a rant and asking for you all to do a rain dance for a torrential downpour.

NB - I'm working tomorrow, would maybe feel a little less ranty if I wasn't!

OMG that's pants, OP. Good luck getting any sleep.

I don't tend to mind things like this if it's a one off, but it would have been polite to warn people ahead.

Exactly how I feel. They're a fan of a loud tune here and there, but there was no notice of this extravaganza. They have a massive gazebo and light up letters, the lot!

Also can't have any windows or doors open or we have to shout to hear each other. I'm roasting.

If they wanted a party to that extent then they should have hired somewhere

JorisBonson · 23/07/2022 22:02

Yep! That's a good way to put it!

I can't remember off the top of my head when music has to stop because it becomes anti social behaviour and can then be reported . I think it might be 11pm. No help I know . Poor you Flowers

JorisBonson · 23/07/2022 22:08

I wish we could post videos on here, I can't believe how loud it is! Hoping it's better upstairs.

Try asking them to turn it down to a more reasonable level? Otherwise contact the council?
If they are usually good neighbours and this is a one off then I would probably suck it up though.

Our neighbours did this to us. Came and knocked and told us, party for daughter’s 30th, will go turn it off and go inside at midnight. Then posted same on local Facebook group , all about them being courteous and considerate and how it was a special day for them. And the music did go off at midnight. And they did go inside. Then came back outside at 2am and screeched until 4am. Waking everyone up in all the houses around them. They’re utter twats. The faux “consideration” was the icing on the cake.

Yeah I'm going for the latter, but whinging 😂

We're all fairly live and let live round here but most people have a tiny Bluetooth speaker and go in quite early.

Now there is someone on a microphone doing a speech and saying prayers. Did I accidentally take acid?

It's a graduation party, and all thanks to God apparently!

I find it much easier just to go and bang on their door and ask them nicely to turn it down.
If I have to return I am not nice.

If they are still arseholes I report.

Frequent arseholes I go and remind them people are trying to sleep. Shout to shut the fuck up and report.

Currently going through this with an office building who for some insane reason keep having parties every Thursday night, starting at 11pm until they get fed up of their fun being disrupted. Wankers. They forget although there are a lot of office buildings it’s still a residential area.

Fireworks now!

I’m enjoying the running commentary…

JorisBonson · 23/07/2022 22:49

Haha, it's difficult not to!

I've had my nytol and about to eat plug up. I'm excited for the aftermath tomorrow 😂

DH has been given permission to do loud motorbike things by their house early tomorrow morning 🤣

Did you sleep well OP

JorisBonson · 24/07/2022 08:05

I got up at 1 to use the facilities (🧓) and the music has stopped but the whooping very much hadn't.

I didn't sleep too badly, mostly nytol aided.
