In the early 2000s, I met someone from what was at the time a very popular forum.
They were an extremely articulate, kind, supportive poster online. In RL, they were an absolute mess, got plastered and broke down sobbing.
I’ve also met someone who seemed so lovely both in RL and online but was a troll! Everything she’d said wasn’t true.
