Bike re commendation for unfit middle age women

Looking for a bike for a 3 mile commute to new job. Can anyone help with recommendations please?

I have this Trek FX 3 Women's for my 5 mile flat commune and I love it. (Though the paintwork is very easily damaged, which is a shame)

Paid extra for mudguards and a rear rack for my (hideously expensive but worth every penny) Ortleib laptop pannier.

I got it through our cycle to work scheme and it did take ages to arrive in the height of the pandemic - but that meant when I actually got it, I'd already finished paying for it.

I've always had hybrids but they kill my back due to riding position. Hired a Pendleton style one on holiday and it was so comfortable. Will be looking to buy one myself (44 with a dodgy back and an arse that can't tolerate being in a saddle for more than 10 minutes usually)

If you have a bike to work scheme with your new job then whilst this is a bit over budget you might be able to get it for similar (if you get my drift). It is an excellent bike for the money. I love mine, not really into cycling at all but my husband is an avid road biker. We have been able to go out together at the weekends and it means I can keep up with him. We did 35 miles the other week and I am fat, in my 50's and at the moment very out of shape.

I did quite a lot of research and this bike got excellent reviews for being a really good performance bike without the price tag. I have no regrets.
