Quite fancy trying it out but I'm unconvinced by smell translating to taste!

So just wondered if anyone uses one and rates it

My friend has one . She doesn’t like water . She enjoyed it for a while and ordered different flavours . Think the novelty wore off after a while as haven’t seen her with it lately .

I had one. It does have a slight flavour, but it's not particularly strong. The bit that I didn't like was that it is fairly noisy - it makes bubbles so you get a constant noise while drinking.

OutOfPlaceInMyOwnLife · 23/07/2022 20:22

DD was so excited to get one but her brain didn’t “fall” for the smell/flavour thing at all. The cartridge smells nice but it doesn’t make the water taste of anything.

She was really disappointed!

TotheletterofthelawTHELETTER · 23/07/2022 20:39

I’ve just bought DD one as an end of term present. I should have just set fire to my £45.
DD had seen them on tiktok and had been desperate for one. It doesn’t live up to the hype. It still tastes like water. I tried it when she had a peach pod on and the smell was overpowering but it tasted like water not peach juice.
it is noisy. And doesn’t work properly if you tilt it even slightly.

just go for flavoured water instead.

My 10yo wants one and she's convinced it's the best thing ever. I would rather set fire to my money but I daresay I'll give in...

Beetr00t · 23/07/2022 22:23

My 12 year old got one for his birthday and loves it. I was soooo sceptical but it does work, sort of- like very weak squash. He never drinks water but is going through it now, so worth it

Ralphswife · 23/07/2022 22:31

Yep. Just got one for my 13 year old. Another expensive TikTok fad. Avoid if possible. My older DS pointed out the similarities with vaping which put me off even more.

LoveAndBeSilent · 23/07/2022 22:43

Oh yes, I too have fallen for this! At the minute the novelty factor is still big and so the whole family gathers to "taste" the latest flavour my daughter has requested 😬 but I just KNOW that in a couple of weeks it'll be at the back of the cupboard with the oh so necessary and desperate for chilli bottles and I'll be cursing myself yet again for being a soft touch!

jazzandh · 23/07/2022 22:45

I was sceptical but got DS one ad end of term gift. It is really strange/wierd but the pods do make try he water taste like the advertised flavour! I don't like the flavour, but it is bang on!!!! Bloody amazing chemistry and marketing ....expensive gimmick Ok would say...but it does actually do what it says!

comfortablyfrumpy · 23/07/2022 22:50

DD really, really rates hers.

OutOfPlaceInMyOwnLife · 25/07/2022 19:06

So funny how it works for some but not others!

Beetr00t · 15/08/2022 23:04

I’m now tempted to get one for myself as I never drink water and I’ve been pinching DS’s!

B1rd · 15/08/2022 23:12

My 12 year bought one with her money. I think it was more look what I've got at school. She's not bothered once since the holidays. It's an awful lot of money for what it is and the top is a nightmare to get off. It's a pull off, not a screw off.

HardRockOwl · 16/08/2022 09:21

I ended up buying one and I like it!

I bought a load of the pods and some are stronger than others. The only thing that confuses me slightly is how to change the flavours! So for example I may fancy cherry for one drink and then pear for another. Do I need to stick with cherry until the scent is considered 'done?'

Who knows? So I've been chopping and changing them about and just put them back in their little cases

DS changes them all the time- I've wondered about that too, do I need to use one up?! I've had his for a week and drunk a lot of water which I never do, I'm using the orange one.

DuckWithOneWing · 12/12/2022 06:59

The one I had came with a leaflet that said you could swap them over as long as you kept them safely. I doubt they've changed so much since then that you can't do that any more!
