Help! Where is the support rod for my car bonnet? (Qashqai)

I need to check my oil level but can't prop open the bonnet because I can't find the rod. It should be obvious, surely? The manual and Google are no help. Could it be missing or just hiding in plain sight? If you have a Qashqai or can offer any advice, please do!

No, unfortunately it does need one..It doesn't stay up, and the manual has pictures of one being used (but doesn't say where to find it). Are they normally attached or loose? (If loose, then it may just be missing).

Is it not underneath the bonnet but flat and you pull it out?

Oldraver · 23/07/2022 11:58

In that video it was attached to the bonnet so it's possible you missed it

Most cars Ive had they have been attached to the engine compartment

No worries - I've found it. Had to watch a youtube video to locate it, but have now found it on the underside of the bonnet.

DP says normally held by plastic clip or looped through something, so may be look for something that seems more integral than it actually is...?

And it should be bright yellow.

The hiding in plain sight ones that puzzled me were actually nestling in the hood ( the lid) i.e. look up.

Nm! I see you've triumphed
