Simple joys

Life is tough with cost of living, war, burning weather etc, so im trying to appreciate the small things.

This morning I've taken my 21 month old out for an early morning walk on his push bike. We stopped at a lovely cafe and sat outside, sharing two croissants and an iced coffee (for me, no one wants a caffeinated toddler). It was so so lovely just enjoying how he's starting to be able to have a sort of conversation, smiling together and pointing out things, a cool breeze but warm sun.

What small enjoyable things are everyone doing this weekend?

Sounds lovely

Seeing my "baby" - in her new city with her first proper job - we'll go for a walk and treat her to a weeks shopping in sainsburies !

Took the DC to the snow for first time and spent a good amount of our time there literally log rolling down the slope with them. It was just so much fun.

Also recently went for a run in the rain. We've all been cooped up at home post snow trip with a horrendous cold and I finally felt well enough for a short run. A few minutes out the door and the heavens just opened with the hugest downpour. The rain drops pelting down felt wonderful and I came back really refreshed in my soul. DH always looks at me a bit funny when I say things like that but it was just so wonderful.

Holding a sleeping toddler for their nap ❤️ Nothing beats a sleeping baby on you…

Playing with the dog. Fresh sheets on the bed. Watching a classic film.
