Have you been allocated seats in the zone you expected?

We bought Category B seats but it looks like we've been put in the Category D zone according to this seating plan.

Has this happened to anyone else?

KenAdams The plan you've linked was for the Diamond League in May. I think you need this www.birmingham2022.com/venues/alexander-stadium. (Scroll down a bit for the stadium plan). It doesn't show seating categories though, just the block numbers!

I ordered category C and I've got one of the upper blocks. I'm getting excited about going now! Hope you have a great time.

KenAdams · 24/07/2022 16:00

Thanks, we're in 224 which looks like it's the other side of the stadium from the 100 meters?

I have no idea what I paid for, just glad I have some tickets. We've got diving tickets but cannot find a seating plan for the Aquatic centre anywhere.

We have tickets for 223 and 225 and had selected category D tickets.

Are you sure you paid for category B, as it was a ballot, so it maybe that you were unsuccessful in the higher category ticket brackets, but you were successful in category D. It might be worth checking your email which notified you of your success in the ballot.

solarbirdscalm · 24/07/2022 19:21

We've got tickets to 6 events, all the cheap seats.

thatgingergirl · 24/07/2022 19:28

Dontlickthetrolley - this is the Aquatics venue www.birmingham2022.com/venues/sandwell-aquatics-centre

KenAdams - I have block 224 too - maybe the blocks are categorised depending on the row allocated, so front rows are a different category to those further back. Or maybe not!

Am avidly checking the weather forecast daily!

Drywhitefruitycidergin · 24/07/2022 19:32

I haven't checked tbh - but we got all cheap seats anyway & didn't get anything for swimming & gymnastics where we tried to get more expensive ones.
Still excited though!
Been watching the 10 years ago stories from the Olympics which was just the best!

tapdancingmum · 24/07/2022 20:35

I have tickets to the gymnastics on Saturday morning. Didn't factor in that for us to be there for 9:00 we have to get the 6:15 train. Can't go the day before as I'm off to see Lady Gaga and won't be home till god knows what time. Then on Sunday we have tickets to then Euro finals at Wembley. Going to be a very busy weekend 😃

BuwchGochGota · 24/07/2022 20:42

@tapdancingmum isn't there a rail strike on Saturday?

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 24/07/2022 20:54

We’ve got tickets, not especially excited about it now because I think the rail strike is going to make it a pain. Wish we weren’t going

tapdancingmum · 24/07/2022 21:02

@BuwchGochGota my train company isn't on strike, thank goodness 😀

BuwchGochGota · 24/07/2022 21:13

@tapdancingmum oh that's good. Ours isn't either, but as they can't run trains on Network Rail infrastructure because of the dispute I think all trains are cancelled anyway.

Yes, I've seen that but I so far haven't managed to find a plan to work out in the seats where Block D and Block J are!

Dontlickthetrolley · 24/07/2022 21:27

If you're driving, check out my parking space to book parking. I've booked into a Sainsbury and Asda for 2 of my events, (less than £5 for the day) 30 minute walk, but hopefully that will mean getting out will be easier and not having to get on a park and ride bus!

Drywhitefruitycidergin · 24/07/2022 21:37

@tapdancingmum I didn't get Euros tickets for Sunday coz we had CG. Regretting that after the Amex on weds. Busy weekends are as important as chilled ones!

thatgingergirl · 24/07/2022 21:43

Dontlickthetrolley - there's a plan on that link if you scroll down a bit. Blocks D and J are shown.
Good tip about parking - I've already booked park and ride - hoping that all goes smoothly.

You legend, thank you. I saw the purple and thought it was showing the gym and bits underneath as had seen on another map. That'll teach me not to zoom in!! Am happy with my J tickets!!!

Idiotintraining · 24/07/2022 21:57

We have tickets to the netball but we love just around the corner. Also have tickets to the closing ceremony

KenAdams · 25/07/2022 19:19

Yes it says Category B on them and we were charged the Cat B price. Seems odd and I cannot find a phone number anywhere. Their helpdesk is useless, they just keep telling us that there are different categories of seats. I haven't heard anything about blue badge parking either as they need to contact you so I'm hoping they sort that before the date.

There is no RMT strike on the Saturday, just an ASLEF drivers' strike for some companies, so there will be no issues with trains running on Network rail infrastructure. Companies with no strike will definitely be running trains.

stilldumdedumming · 25/07/2022 20:49

We have tickets for the velodrome on Friday. Dp is disabled and won't manage the tubes so we're driving to Enfield and then train from there. And then walk to the velodrome. I'm hoping that will be ok.

It's on the website about booking Blue Badge spaces www.parkthecarhere.com/birmingham2022

KenAdams · 25/07/2022 23:27

Ah thanks @Dontlickthetrolley they told me to tick the blue badge option in my account and someone would contact me. Looks all sold out now unfortunately for blue badge.
