Cabin bags Jet2

Hope you can help. With all the mither we've decided to just have carry on cabin luggage only for first time ever. Jet2 says we can have 56x45x25 cases, which we have, but they seem so big compared to ones we saw at the airport earlier this year. If anyone has flown Jet2 with carry on please can you confirm this won't be a problem? We leave for airport tomorrow night. Thanks in advance.

Also airport rules seem to say you can take scissors smaller than 6cm, is that really true, I thought no blades allowed (possible aimed at an airport worker that question). Thanks again.

Jet2 have the most generous allowance for carry on luggage.

Mine is 50 35 20 (plus wheels) and definitely wasn't the biggest I saw. I also had a backpack/handbag of a reasonable size.

I didn't see them weigh or measure any bags.

Oh and baggage is hand searched before boarding in Turkey and no one had the size of their bag queried then either.

i'm looking at Turkey again later this year and am worried about other airlines rules although Ryanair are the only ones I know that are really arsey about it

My scissors were smaller than 6cm but I think if rounded ends its fine

Thank you! I was starting to panic as people were querying what we were doing re cabin cases. Thanks too re scissors answer.

While we’re on the subject of Jet2, do we need to wear face masks on board?

GrandSlamFinalee · 22/07/2022 19:47

Those measurements are the standard cabin bag allowance. Ryanair is 55x40x20 so just a few centimetres off. You’ll be fine. Enjoy your trip!

This will depend on your country of destination and their rules.

Puppylucky · 22/07/2022 19:57

@GrandSlamFinalee that's not true. Jet2 no longer require masks regardless of mask legislation in the inbound /outbound destinations. We flew London - Girona a few weeks ago and no mask requirements at all - although they are still mandated on Spanish public transport.

We flew Jet2 to Lanzarote and didn't need masks on board

That’s because Spain opted to implement the EU’s ‘optional masks on planes’ policy. Had they not, no airline would have been allowed to drop masks. Not on paper anyway, some crews have been more flexible than others throughout this, of course.
