Hi,

We have booked Haggerston Castle (Haven) for a week in August. When we booked it reviews were okay. I have just been planning some trips and looked on the trip advisor, the reviews were mainly terrible.

We have booked a three bed bronze caravan.

I am really worried the site is going to be terrible and unclean.

I'm not fussed about on site shops and restaurants as we won't be using them.

I would love to hear anyones experiences so I am prepared for the worst!

Hi Smile I am literally just back from Haggerston Castle this afternoon. I was there with my five year old daughter. To be honest, four days was long enough as it's not great....then again I expected more food places to go to which there wasn't. There is a Burger King and a papa johns pizza place which I thought were restaurants but they were just take away places with very very little seating areas right next to the arcades however if you have plenty of your own food to make you will be ok. We were VERY underprepared to the point where we had to go and buy hand wash and washing up liquid when we arrived, the shop is ok but not great. The only thing I would suggest booking WELL in advance is for the swimming pool...sessions are free so fill up FAST...you need one reservation per person, not per family, I stupidly left it until a week before I went to book and ended up with only three sessions at random times throughout my four days there and wished I'd booked more. We didn't go out much at night unless it was to the arcades but the evening entertainment venue looked packed so I would get there early to get a seat. We did "make a bear" where you get to stuff an animal of your choice for 20 pounds...kind of like build a bear as you can imagine, there were bears, bunnies and unicorns to choose from. My daughter seemed to enjoy it, hopefully this helps. x

Oh yeah and just bring comfy shoes as we were about one mile walk from our caravan to the main facilities. We were in the section named after golf courses but hopefully you will be closer Smile
