I have had superb service on the telephone today

I feel on top of the world!.

I've been trying to sort out DH's affairs since he died a year ago. Somany companies have made it such hard work. Even if they're OK when you get through, you've waiting in a queue forever to get to that point.

I had to sort out what to do with his pension, but the provider seemed to be putting lots of barriers in place for "my protection" but whch also make them money Hmm

Today I spoke to Pensionwise and they were superb. Whilst they didn't really tell me anything I didn't already know, they made everything really clear and gave me the language to overcome those barriers.

Then when I phoned the company again, as if by magic, the barriers I've been fighting against for a year, just disappeared and they did what I've been asking for all that time. The person I spoke to couldn't have been more helpful or patient too.

Obviously, I shouldn't have had to go thorough the rest, but it's such a relief to get it done.

If you're 50+ and need any help understanding your pensions I'd thoroughly recommend Pensionwise (a free government service). He was brilliant, seemed to find just the right balance of friendly and professional and explain things in a way that was clear and easy to understand without being patronising.

It's a sorry state of affairs when good service comes as a surprise, but it was lovely today.

Good to know. When my father died I found the Government departments very helpful.

Great to hear of good service, and particularly at such a difficult time but a pity it needs remarking on! I have found Pensionwise very helpful in the past.

Not remotely comparable but my order and delivery of 2 M&S sofas could not have gone more smoothly recently. Gave me a date right at the beginning which was honoured, plenty of updates, delivery right on time, very professional chaps doing the delivery and 2 lovely new sofas 🙂

I nominate Dobbies, great customer service, ask you when suits you for delivery and do it
Excellent service

They bloke on the other end was very helpful and informed me of lots I hadn't thought about.
