Cervical polyp

I had a really uncomfortable smear this week where the nurse couldn't find cervix and then said there was a endometrial polyp also, so she went to get the doctor who came and did it. I've been referred for an ultrasound tomorrow as she wants to see the uterus also. Only symptoms the last while are more painful periods with diarrhoea and feeling like I'm going to vomit and pass out. I've read polyps are usually benign, but am interested in others' experiences.

It’s good that you’re getting checked out.
I’ve had a polyp that hasn’t caused any issues.

I would be more concerned about the more painful periods if it’s a significant change. I wouldn’t assume that it’s related to the polyp necessary - needs to be investigated in its own right.

I had a polyp a few years ago, caused bleeding between my periods which was a paIn. I was referred to gyne and had it removed under GA after an attempt without failed.

I had a cervical polyp removed at the beginning of last year (I had a thread at the time you can search for). I’d had a smear about 5 months earlier and 5 months later I had a polyp that was too big for the GP to remove and was causing bleeding. I was referred under the 14 day pathway, had it removed at the hospital (was in and out in about 30 mins) and given the all clear about 10 days later. Good luck.

I have a cervical polyp. The dr referred me for a transvaginal scan. She said she would speak with the mdt before she finds a treatment path. Does anyone know why she would’ve have said it. I am 47. Really worried sick and was too stunned to ask any questions. Shouldn’t have gone on my own that day.
