Useful lockdown lessons for cost of living squeeze

Preface this by saying we are fortunate, 2 parent family of school aged kids with 2 parents in teacher-type salary jobs and that this is quite a frivolous discussion. But I was thinking about how lockdown was a useful way of working out what is important to prioritise in terms of extra luxuries and things we enjoy.

Things we can definitely do without:

expensive days out- so many things to do outdoors for free
too many clothes. Decluttered and feel so much better for it
gym membership
most beauty treatments

But I also really missed:

going to the hairdresser
occasional meals out somewhere fun
kids being able to do swimming lessons

I know for some people holidays abroad are what they have really missed but again, I actually didn’t that much. My basic point is that I really love going to the hairdresser I suppose! And I don’t want to give it up unless I really have to.
