UK debt at a record high- why isn’t this a central part of any leadership challenge

Borrowing to pay for trillions of pounds worth of debt has hit a record high- fuelled by soaring inflation.

Surely this should be central to any leadership debate? We are borrowing more and more to just pay the interest on the debt. We need sensible fiscal policies asap!

I saw a headline saying that Rishi wouldn't entertain a tax cut until late next year. I assume that this is kind of what you mean.
