Is this gallbladder issues?

I’m being investigated for some digestive issues:

  • going more often (sometimes 3-4 times a day)
  • sometimes orange toned poo, that is loose with oil floating on top
  • gnawing pain like extreme hunger mostly under my ribs in centre
  • extreme wind, especially in morning
  • bloating in upper abdomen. Goes rock hard. After eating mainly.
  • getting full quickly
  • feeling sick
  • extreme trapped wind
  • acid taste in mouth sometimes
  • very noisy tummy
  • more sleepy - last weekend took a 4 hour nap as it relieved the nausea
Dr said I’m booked in for ultrasound and endoscopy. Blood tests and poo Tests too.

some bits fit gallbladder issues but to be honest I wouldn’t say the pain is right sided. It’s more central. It does come and go. It’s not severe but I just feel off with nausea and a gnawing/burning pain.

I’ve given up fizzy drinks, caffeine and alcohol so not related to those.

im really hoping it’s something easy to fix. Anyone had this before?

Hi Elsa, I’ve just had my gallbladder removed and a lot of your symptoms sound like mine. Especially the central gnawing hunger pains and intolerance of fatty food. I also had biliary colic where my stomach felt like I’d been punched hard. Gallstones will show up on the ultrasound but there is also a test the gp can do where they press below your right rib when you raise your arms above your head. It was super sensitive - a sure marker for gallstones apparently. Try and avoid large meals, fatty food, and remember to eat little and often. I also went gluten and dairy free which helped me. But definitely speak to your GP about nutrition and diet. Good luck!
