Smart TV for bedroom

I want to put a smart tv in my DS bedroom, here comes the really dull questions.

Do smart TVs connect to WiFi or would I need to get a ethernet cable installed in his room?

He'd mainly be using the tv to stream Disney+ (which I understand is available as an app on smart tvs?) and netflixs (again an app?)

Also for gaming, but I've got my head around how that works.

I'm a bit out of my depth with technical specifications, I really don't want to buy him a tv that will not work as he wants it to.

Lastly, if anybody could recommend a small (suitable for bedroom) smart tv that'd be great!

Not all smart TVs have Disney+ (ours doesn't) but you can always pick up a Chromecast/Firestick for £20 and cast from the app on a phone as long as the TV has a USB port.
