How much screen time are your y5 getting

Trying to do a screen free summer with lots of reading & a weekend movie. Dc don't get much as it is at all just interested!

If you mean a 5yo then very little at that age.

I wouldn’t be able to manage a screen free summer to be honest as I need the downtime as well.

I don't regulate it in the summer hols, so some days it might be all day, others none if we're going out. I hate having to tot up and monitor screen time. As long as mine stops when asked I don't mind.

I mean Year 5 not 5 years old.. Dc have camps & we have a holiday booked, days out planned & things..

I think this is a healthy way to manage it especially for older children

Max 30 mins on a weekday, 1 hour on the weekend but tbh the main reason we time and monitor is (a) bribery and (b) to forestall the whinging between my two DSs as to who got more screen time.

The important thing is they have to stop when I tell them without a fuss, or they lose screen time the next day. And many days they don't have any if we've been out somewhere. One of mine much prefers a kindle for reading as it feels like a screen.
