Would you change jobs now?

I’m in a really secure job, and have been in the role for more than 2 years. I have been offered a role in the same industry with a local organisation. It is in the public sector. In the new role, I would have some authority ( deputy type role) but would be moving into a well established team- they have all been there for years.
The industry I work in is vulnerable to cut backs, but quite key ( so won’t disappear completely).
The (new) organisation is very well run and generally in a better financial situation than my current organisation.

Given the current financial climate, is it a good time to change jobs?

I've had a few different careers in my life and I'm about to embark on yet another one which I have to go to Uni for this September.

I've enjoyed all of them and they have suited my lifestyle and age at the time.

They've all required specific training and I think that's maybe what I enjoy. New challenges

There is never a right or wrong time just do what you feel you need or want at the time.

I can honestly say I have no regrets in life and have travelled extensively and lived my life.

Hopefully my final job after this bout of study will be fulfilling and give me a decent pension

Also you may not get this opportunity again so my philosophy has also been to take whatever opportunity comes your way because you never know where it will take you financially or emotionally

In the situation that you outline I can't see why you wouldn't. It sounds v secure.
