Those giant towelling hoodies you take to the beach to get changed under. I’ve never used them before, but just had one each delivered for DD and I, and think they’re going to be really useful.

insect repellent / antihistamine cream

Bottles of Magic Cool

Water shoes for the children

Plug adapters to charge phones etc - always seem to forget/lose these, and end up buying at the airport

A little bottle of concentrated squash - after a while water can get boring and these (in a zip lock bag in case of a spillage) pack easily and also into your beach or pool bag.

Travel washing line and pegs.

If your flying a piece of washi tape on the back of each passport with owners name written on in sharpie. Easy to find right one to pop boarding pass in quickly

The little squeezy bottles of concentrated squash. Handy to throw in your luggage and keep in your room, especially for the kids.

Plenty suncream- it's so pricey when you're abroad.

Less clothes and shoes than you're thinking. It's always the same abroad, you find 2 or 3 comfortable outfits and just rotate! New shoes in heat = blisters and spoilt fun.

Jacket/pashmina for chillier evenings

Headphones for the plane and around the pool

Good book/Kindle

Playing cards. Great for the plane, airport and on the balcony.

Anti-chafing cream. Came in so handy for us when we were away last month. Even the kids needed some on longer explorations.

Tiger we're just back from the Norfolk coast and saw lots of those people in those robes on the beach ... excellent idea and now on my list to buy for next year

They're called dry robes. I've got one. Not cheap but really worth it.

@tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz i got ours from Decathlon, and they seem good quality.

I have a thing for bags in bags in bags, like a Russian doll approach for packing for the beach.

So you start with your HUGE bag which even the kitchen sink fits in - this of course packs flat in your case - then I have another clear wipe clean bag for sun creams, another to house keys, phones and little bits in. Means everything has its place but the bags can just be chucked in and everyone knows which bag thrir crap is in.

DH chose a day when I was experiencing peri rage to take the piss out of my "bag in a bag in a bag" thing on hold last week ... I apologise profusely to the family nearby for my choice word response, if mum, your reading Grin
