It’s my partner’s grand daughter’s first birthday in a few weeks. Any suggestions for a present, perhaps a toy?

A really special book maybe? Like a hardback Winnie the Pooh? Or a teddy?

allboysherebutme · 19/07/2022 21:13

Depends what you want to spend. ?

A ball!

A lovely, soft ball with a bell inside - no child should be without one

Finger puppets or shadow puppets. Adults can use them to tell stories first, then the child

www.amazon.co.uk/SmartMax-My-First-Safari-Animals/dp/B06Y3V1WXG/ref=asc_df_B06Y3V1WXG/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=226564701243&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=2438834791398609054&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9044923&hvtargid=pla-348682312970&psc=1&th=1&psc=1 Horrible link sorry! We have the dinosaurs version of this, I think he was maybe 18m when he got it but it was a huge hit with my DS and his big sister (age 4) enjoys it too.

Books, aways a winner. Or else a voucher for a day to maybe a farm or something?

MuddlingThroughLifeLittleByLittle · 19/07/2022 22:56

Trip to a farm? Maybe a season pass so they can go often depending on price.
Personalised book?

IAmSantaOhYesIAm · 19/07/2022 23:01

Depends on your budget really but bath toys, touch and feel books, clothes that are a size bigger - not appreciated by baby but parents should be happy!
Any noisy interactive toy kids love - take a look in a smyths toy shop for inspiration.

A little set of DUPLO. Perfect age to start a collection!

yoshiblue · 19/07/2022 23:25

I would second Duplo and a collection of Dr Seuss books

Absolutely nothing. They haven't a clue. Treat yourself to something nice instead or perhaps buy your DC baby music or swimming lessons (an experience).
