Can't help but feel guilty I've not been the fun mumn

I have kept the kids 8+6 in constantly for the last 2 daya because of the heat I actually feel quite guilty now weve missed out on pool/garden fun as I watch the news seeing lots of people outside enjoin them selfs but I keep reminding my self it was 39.c where we live and a red warning.
Is anyone feeling the same though now

It's only 2 days, I don't think you need to worry. Have an extra fun weekend to make.up for it.

I wouldn’t feel too guilty but maybe just use it as a point of reflection for next time. Going to the beach is a bit much but cracking out the paddling pool, lathering on the factor 50 and sun suits and letting them enjoy a safe amount of sunshine and then a cool shower and ice lolly to cool off is no bad thing. It’s not unreasonable you were cautious as there were lots of warnings but we have enjoyed the weather as much as possible even with two small children.

Forget about it. They have the whole of the summer holiday to have fun.

Nah you have the whole summer for that. We stayed in mainly too. Did go in the pool this afternoon, 4pm in full shade.

I’ve kept my toddler in for the last 5 days. It’s too hot. It’ll cool down soon and we can all be fun again.

As mums there is nothing we can't feel guilty about, it goes with the job description! Imagine how you would feel if one of them had got a sunburn? In these temperatures children can burn within minutes. Better safe than sorry. Plenty of time for fun in the (safe) sun.
