David Lloyd membership

I’d like some advice please from anyone who is a member.

ive asked for a tour of a local David Lloyd. I’m interested in a three month membership that includes children and will enable my kids to accompany me somewhere over the school holidays. I understand they have kids facilities so I can work out while the children are entertained?

is this right or am I massively oversimplifying this and actually this stuff comes under extras, is impossible to book etc etc?

also what membership is this likely to fall under and ball park cost?

Hi I was also interested in this membership and spoke to a lady over the phone who ofcourse tried to book a tour and sell this to me but I was very clear I needed to know the price beforehand which is £120 per month. For me this was very expensive

MrsPear · 19/07/2022 18:19

We are Greater London - they want to charge £300 a month for family membership to say we were staggered was an understatement. Apparently it keeps it exclusive and the country club vibe …. No thanks. H still goes - £100 a month.

You have to be quick to book classes as the spaces go very quickly.

DoThePropeller · 19/07/2022 18:26

£125 for me and £52 I think for each child over three. I never have problems getting in a class, people usually drop out even of the overbooked/popular ones.

fizzwhizz1 · 19/07/2022 19:07

You have to pay by the hour for the creche. Some of the older children's class are included in their membership price (around £50 per month per child as someone else said) some classes incur an additional fee. Be aware not all the gym offer the 3 month membership - I tried at a newer one near me and told they don't offer that. Also, some are adults only. So do check.

RudsyFarmer · 19/07/2022 22:27

Do you know where I might find more info about what’s included in the child price? I want to try and wring out the summer holidays with activities and was hoping we could attend the gym around four or five times a week.

Call the gym & ask for more info, go on the tour?

I used to be a member when DC were under 3, I loved it! Was expensive but I went slot & got the value from it. DC used crèche, then we’d go for a swim.

Yodaisawally · 20/07/2022 00:26

They won't give you the prices over the phone, you have to go in and do the tour and the sales pitch at the end. The crèche is usually chargeable on top of membership. It's around £300 here for the top level - prime time access, use other clubs etc. Kids can swim with you for free but lessons on top. Classes get booked quickly as does crèche.

Loads of people here are using it as a WFH base so it's busy at traditional off peak times.

They often do a 2 week for £14 membership in the summer if you are just looking for something for the school holidays

Ladywiddio · 20/07/2022 02:10

I am a member of David Lloyd, they haven’t done the 2 week membership for several years. They do a 3month one, which isn’t cheap, there is also the joining fee to add on.

Financially it is only worth joining if you are going to use it a lot.

Maybe not at your club? And it's been pandemic last 2 years so just getting back to normal.

It starts 1st August at mine

ArcticSkewer · 20/07/2022 02:21

well, according to the staff anyway ... That's what they've been told

OdeToSadDisco · 20/07/2022 02:46

I think it will vary a lot by club. If it happens to be Gidea Park feel free to PM me and I can help.
