Buying a used car

Hi, I'm looking to get my first car (after many tears and failed test attempts). I just wondered, should cat S and N cars be completely avoided, even if the repairs have been made?

I wouldn't touch them, the second hand market is extensive enough that you don't need to buy these.

Cat N perhaps not S unless you can be certain the works been done correctly, either way though, they need to be a bargain and your prepared to have them for a few years.

2nd hand car prices have gone crazy recently, so you might get a good deal.

What you save on the original price of the car you may very well pay in increased insurance premiums. Insurance companies don't generally like cat s and not keen on cat n.
