Glasgow airport - what time to arrive?

11.30am flight, checked in online but do have a hold bag. The airport is a 3h drive so would leaving at 6am work? Do we still have to be there 2 hours before?

Are there the lengthy queues I'm seeing at other airports in the press?

I think you are cutting it tight. I'd say 3hrs in the airport. 3hrs travel leave at 5 or 5.30.
Give yourself time to allow for any hold-ups, and time to drop the car off.

Queues can be just your luck, we sailed through Manchester a couple of weeks ago but the guys said the day before had been crazy.

I've travelled through Glasgow airport several times in the last few months. Check which flights are leaving around the same time. If it's UK/IRL flights the airport is usually quite chilled, if there are Spain/other sunny holiday destination flights things can be considerably more hectic. But even in the longest security queue I got through in about half an hour.

3hours in the airport? [cries]

I think I'm going to price a Premier Inn en route. If we can be 30mins drive away that's less stressful. Can always make a day of the drive up and stop somewhere.

Anyone know if Premier Inns allow you to leave your car for a week?

Some do, but you’d be better checking out the airport hotels-as in all the different ones, most do a “park&fly” option

Depending on the airline there can be large queues to check in your luggage. You can buy security priority passes for just under 6 pounds but security usually isn't that bad.

The Glynhill Hotel in Paisley will let you leave your car for the week, it’s pretty close to the airport so shouldn’t be too expensive for a taxi.

Or search for long term car parking around the airport, we usually park at FlyingScot Parking (I think, it’s been a while), good prices and they have shuttle buses to the terminal.

Thanks - ive had a scan around and it seems a PI 20 mins away plus airport parking is the cheapest option all round.

Thanks!
