Would you take a baby to a children's party today?

It's my oldest DC's end of term party at nursery today at 1.30 (parents will take children home when it ends at 2.30)

I have an 8mo baby and I don't think it's a good idea for me to be taking him out in this heat today. I don't drive so we would be out walking for atleast an hour, there and back.

I'm thinking of telling DP to go and collect the older DC in a taxi whilst I stay home with baby.

That's the best course of action isn't it?

Would you take baby or no?

Stay home with baby.

MolliciousIntent · 19/07/2022 09:47

Yes, keep the baby at home. I hope the party is indoors.

Feelinhothothot22 · 19/07/2022 09:50

The party is indoors In a hall with air con (no air con in previous years and it was unbearably hot!)

We're in the a red zone and I'm already sweating after putting some washing out.

Yes I think we will definitely stay home.

I'd stay home, especially in the red zone. You wouldn't take unnecessary trips in red snow why do it in the heat?

With two adults at home I would leave one at home with the baby and one go to the nursery, getting a taxi at least for the return with your child

Is an adult supposed to attend the party? Will DP do that? If not, I'd get a taxi there and back and enjoy an hour in the air conditioned hall!

My DH is picking my eldest up today, I'm staying in with the baby
My eldest is only a 10 min walk but I'm not risking it

You don't drive but why can't he drive her there, wait and drive back?

It actually reads they don't have a car.
She is suggesting the DP gets a taxi. She may not be happy taking baby in a taxi.

Stay home. My commute is similar with toddlers, and yesterday was hell. If I could avoid it, I would
