To phone in sick?

Not due in until noon, but I'm expected to phone in early.

Had a bit of an upset tummy yesterday afternoon/evening. This morning feel a bit headachy, but am now feeling a bit sick and certainly shaky. Work will be full on, rushing around, no air con and even my padded bra was saturated after 1.5 hours yesterday (never had happen before).

It's a short shift and I want to go in as nearly end of term, but in my heart I won't be up to it and there's the weather on top. I actually do feel alert and ok in every other way, but know it's probably a stupid thing going out in this heat if I'm not right anyway.

Please stay at home. I think I do a similar job to you, based on what you've written above, and it won't be good if you end up having a funny turn at work if you've forced yourself to go in.
Rest up today, and hopefully you'll be ok for tomorrow. Force yourself, and you may end up not being able to go back for end of term if you make yourself sicker. Feel better soon!

Definitely stay home and call in sick!

Have some breakfast and plenty to drink and see how you feel in a couple of hours.

Sounds like you might have a tummy bug or something. I'd call in sick - it sounds like maybe you work in a lunchtime setting in a school as well so around food? If so definitely don't go in!

Thanks. Not sure I fancy it, but am having a slice of toast - see if I feel better in a few minutes. I really can't leave it after 9am, as we're meant to call in before 7.30am.

See how you feel in an hour or so. I'd push on for a short shift. Will your colleagues need to cover you?

WinterMusings · 19/07/2022 08:28

Stay home. Whatever you have you don't want to spread around and in this heat you're going to feel dreadful. Don't mention the heat, just your D&V.

Thanks everyone. I feel worse after having my toast and am going to have a lye down. Have just let work know.

Maybe do a Covid test?
